Our Founder

Jeanne founded the Marlow Language Centre in July 1988 after spending many years teaching French to clients in the corporate and private sectors. Her overriding concern was that each client should receive as much care and attention as possible and that learning a language should be fun. The high-scoring achievements of the Centre’s thousands of satisfied clients are testimony to this approach. Jeanne’s wonderful personality, zest for life and exceedingly caring attitude towards all of her students have set a very fine example and are an inspiration to all who knew her.

Hi. My name is Howard. I would like to welcome you to our website, which represents the culmination of our 20 years of experience working with languages. I sincerely hope that you and your friends and colleagues will find it interesting and we will have the pleasure of being able to help you with your language learning, or translating & interpreting needs.

I really don’t like talking about myself much other than to say that I am a really lucky man. I simply love what I do! After obtaining a Degree in Physics in 1972, I spent almost 20 years in industry & commerce working closely with companies in France, Germany, Italy and Spain and gradually became more and more fascinated with languages. So much so that in 1990 I decided to join my late wife, Jeanne, and work full time in the Marlow Language Centre to help build our Translations Division and our English School. Although I love foreign languages I also love my own language and in 1997 I obtained my TEFL certificate and find that there is nothing more satisfying than teaching English to overseas students. I am really proud of the high degree of personal attention that we give our clients and their consistently high success rate in obtaining all of their language-learning objectives. Our motto is simple, your success is our success!

Mr Brook Eeles BA

Hi my name is Brook! I am the head of the sales team at the Marlow Language Centre and Course Co-ordinator. Having a French mother but growing up in England, I was surrounded by languages from an early age. I studied Italian and French at University, and have lived in Italy for various periods in recent times. I have also learnt Spanish having travelled extensively in South America. As I have attended various language courses, and learnt a number of languages, I understand what students want from a language course as well as the difficulties involved in learning a language! I am available to Marlow Language Centre students 24 hours a day, and I’m always here to answer any questions you may have about your courses. I want to help you learn a language, and make sure you enjoy our courses while making the maximum amount of progress.

Mr Jean-Michel Le Couëdic MA PGCE

Bonjour, my name is Jean-Michel! I was born and educated in France. I moved to the UK in 1992 as an Assistant French Teacher whilst completing my teacher training at Cardiff University. Over the years, I have gained extensive teaching experience and have helped literally thousands of people to achieve the very best results in their GCSE, AS and A2 examinations and to communicate effectively in French.

Students at the Marlow Language Centre are of all ages (from Children to Adults) and come from all backgrounds / walks of life in the private & corporate sectors. As the Director of Studies, it is my job to support our existing teachers, recruit new ones and to ensure that all of our students make good progress in their courses.

Miss Marcia Gouveia
Reception Manager

Hi my name is Marcia! I am the Centre’s Reception Manager in charge of the timetabling and sales administration so if you have any queries regarding your lesson times or teachers, or if you have any feedback that you would like to give us, then please feel free to come and speak to me. I love meeting our clients, it’s the favourite part of my job!

I am a Portuguese national, originally from Madeira and am delighted to also be the Head of our Portuguese Department. I teach both Portuguese and Spanish at the Centre, but really love teaching my own language. I have taught many students Portuguese for all sorts of reasons. Sometimes people have a holiday home in Portugal, or perhaps need the language for business reasons, or for taking exams such as GCSEs, AS and A2 levels, or simply for fun!
